What do you most enjoy about working as a member of the MRA Associates team?

What I most enjoy about MRA is the open and collaborative environment. On a daily basis, I am surrounded by team members who are friendly and open to help. My manager, Matt White, takes the time to explain our projects and encourages me to explore different processes to achieve a desired result. I am able to work hand in hand with various departments and holistically grow my professional skills.

Explain an average day during your MRA internship.

Although any day at MRA is not average, I have a variety of core responsibilities that I typically execute each day. My main responsibilities are creating client presentations, conducting portfolio analysis and process automation, and running a variety of investment reports.

What was your most fun experience as an MRA intern?

Believe it or not, my favorite events are the quarterly staff meetings. Mark Feldman makes each meeting engaging and interactive. We also get to learn more about the firm from our clients themselves. Guest speakers offer insight into what the firm has done for them, and how specific team members have made a difference in their lives. It offers another perspective that shows the exact end benefit of the team’s hard work.

What was your most valuable experience as an MRA Intern?

My professional development has excelled since starting my internship with MRA. I could not have asked for a better manager. – Matt truly cares about my learning; steering me toward the right path to achieve my goals. He makes an effort to review all of my options for my professional and personal development, outlines various outcomes, and helps me plan my short- and long-term objectives. The MRA team always adds a personal touch to show all team members are valued.

What’s next for your professional career?

I am excited to continue to learn and grow from my internship with MRA through Spring 2019. After graduating, I plan to work for an RIA firm as an investment analyst or client advisor. I will also begin my trek towards a CFA charter in December of 2019.  Upon receiving my charter, I would like to go back to school to earn a Masters in Computer Science or Data Analytics to aid in the technological revolution occurring in our industry.
